The 19th Annual Ghost Tours through downtown Beaufort, sponsored by the Exchange Club and benefiting the Child Abuse Prevention Association, begin Oct. 14.
Hourlong walking and carriage tours are available and combine sightseeing with storytelling, including the tale of the oldest ghost in the country at "the Castle," a 19th-century home on Federal Street, according to a CAPA news release.
Walking tours are $12. Carriage tours are $10 for children ages 3 to 11 and $20 for those older than 11. Reservations can be made by calling 834-52-GHOST.
All proceeds go to CAPA, a local nonprofit group that provides educational programs for children, teens and adults, a family mentoring program, and a shelter for abused and neglected children.
