Health department schedules area flu-shot clinics

Several flu clinics have been scheduled in Beaufort County and surrounding areas by the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control.

Getting vaccinated is the best way for those 6 months and older to prevent the flu, according to a DHEC news release.

DHEC Region 8 will hold flu clinics for adults and children ages 3 to 18 years old at all health departments in Beaufort, Colleton and Hampton counties. Flu vaccine for infants and toddlers ages 6 months to 35 months will be available at the Bluffton and Hampton health departments.

The DHEC Region 8 flu clinics will be at the following locations and times:

  • Beaufort County Public Health Department: Oct. 12, 25 and Nov. 8, 601 Wilmington St., Beaufort
  • Bluffton Health Center: Sept. 27, Oct. 18, 25, Nov. 1 and 8, 4819 Bluffton Parkway, Bluffton
  • Colleton County Public Health Department: Oct. 21, 219 S. Lemacks St., Walterboro
  • Hampton County Public Health Department: Sept. 26 and Oct. 17, 531 Carolina Ave. West, Varnville
  • The cost is $25, payable by cash or check; no debit or credit cards will be accepted. Medicare Part B and Medicaid will cover the fee for those who are eligible, the release said.
