A 22-year-old Ridgeland woman was sentenced to 23 years in prison Wednesday for fatally stabbing her boyfriend during an argument in December 2010.
Tara Marie Weber was found guilty of one count of voluntary manslaughter at the end of her two-day trial this week in Ridgeland.
Investigators said Weber and her boyfriend, 24-year-old Kyle Mitchell Way, were arguing inside their home on Lowther Lane on New Year's Eve when Weber grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed Way in the chest.
He died on the way to the hospital, according to the 14th Circuit Solicitor's Office.
Circuit Court Judge Michael G. Nettles handed down the sentence, according to the Solicitor's Office.
