Intruders break in to home of Bluffton family

A Bluffton family was awoken by two armed intruders in their apartment early Monday, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

A 23-year-old man told deputies two men kicked in the door of his home at 1 a.m. at Simmons Cay Apartments on Simmonsville Road.

The victim said he and his family were asleep when the two men entered his bedroom, brandished a handgun and demanded money. After taking his wallet, they ransacked the other bedrooms, a Sheriff's Office news release said. No injuries were reported.

Both robbers were described as white with black hair. One was about 6 feet tall, wearing a long-sleeve white T-shirt, camouflage pants, and a white mask covering the lower part of his face. The second was described as about 5-foot-5, wearing a black T-shirt over a long-sleeve white shirt, dark pants, and a white mask on the lower part of his face.

Anyone with information should call Investigator Cpl. J. Moran at 843-255-3422 or the county dispatch center at 843-524-2777.
