Starting Tuesday, the access road behind Beaufort Memorial Hospital used primarily for service and delivery vehicles will be closed to all but authorized traffic during a 14-month project to expand the emergency room.
A gated security-guard station will be staffed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and closed all other hours, according to a hospital news release. For emergency access after hours, call 843-522-5200 for the hospital operator, who will contact a security guard to open the gate.
