A church group made up of students and adults from North Carolina and South Carolina worked alongside crews from the city of Beaufort on Saturday to help clean up properties and neighborhoods around the city.
The group, Tsunami Ministries, helped fix up homes in the city's Northwest Quadrant, clean up an overgrown yard in Mossy Oaks and assisted at CAPA, Bayview Nursing Home and the Family Promise program for homeless families, according to a news release.
Libby Anderson, Beaufort's planning director, and Isaiah Smalls, the city's public works director, helped coordinate the youth mission trip.
Public Works crews assisted the teens and also provided heavier equipment needed for some of the work, the release said.
