A resident suspected of operating an unlicensed massage parlor out of his apartment got a warning Wednesday from the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office after an anonymous tip.
The deputy who searched the apartment at Old South Court near Bluffton found a room with candles, a bubbling water fountain, massage oils and a professional massage table.
"All the objects in the room gave the room a professional massage therapy atmosphere," the report said.
The resident answered the door in scrubs "consistent with what a massage therapist would wear," according to the report. He told authorities he only gave free massages to family and friends. He did not have a business license and was not a certified massage therapist, the report said.

The deputy advised the resident to stop performing massages and forwarded a copy of the report to Beaufort County Codes Enforcement.
