A 25-year-old St. Helena Island man is accused of robbing an acquaintance at gunpoint Tuesday night.
Dennis Emmanuel Lockhart was charged with armed robbery, pointing and presenting a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The 35-year-old male victim said he was giving Lockhart a ride in his car at about 11 p.m. near the intersection of Folly and Seaside roads when Lockhart pulled a handgun and demanded money.
Lockhart stole $125 and ran, according to a Sheriff's Office report. No injuries were reported.

Lockhart was being held Wednesday at the Beaufort County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
