Sheriff's Office needs help finding rape suspect

The search continues for a man who raped a Lady's Island woman Tuesday, and the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office needs help finding him.

The attacker was described as a dark-skinned black man in his mid- to late-20s, about 6 feet tall and 150 pounds. His head was shaved, and he wore a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

He has a small scar, possibly caused by chicken pox, under his right eye, and what appears to be a recent, inch-long, pink scar running vertically on his right forearm near his elbow.

The man is accused of physically and sexually assaulting the woman after following her into her home at about 2:30 p.m. in the Sunrise Bluff area.

Anyone with information about the crime should call the Sheriff's Office at 843-255-3409 or the county dispatch center at 843-524-2777.
