No. 1 Woodard, No. 2 Levonowich reach Match Play final at Sanctuary

The top two seeds survived two rounds Thursday to advance to the final of the Women's S.C. Golf Association's Match Play Championship at Sanctuary Golf Club at Cat Island.

Top-seeded Dawn Woodard of Greenville and No. 2 Minami Levonowich of Hilton Head Island made sure their seeds held up.

Woodard beat eighth-seeded Elizabeth Thompson in 14 holes in the second round, then took down No. 13 seed Lea Anne Brown in 15 holes to get to the finals.

Levonowich had a bit more trouble -- she needed 16 holes to knock off No. 7 Kimberly Case and went 17 holes before beating No. 3 Lea Venable in the semifinals.

The championship match is scheduled for 9:50 a.m. today.
