To celebrate Beaufort's 300th birthday this year, the Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce Visitor and Convention Bureau is teaming up with local partners to give 150 winners a free two-night stay in the area.
It's a giveaway larger than any other in the area in recent memory, and officials hope it will create some buzz about Beaufort, Port Royal and the neighboring Sea Islands, VCB Executive Director Bob Moquin said.
"We wanted to celebrate and leverage the 300th anniversary of something really significant to our community," he said.
During the 300 Campaign Giveaway, which began Tuesday, two winners will be selected each business day through Sept. 30, Moquin said.
