Man accused of pointing gun at bar patron

A Beaufort man was arrested early Sunday after allegedly cocking and pointing a gun at a woman leaving a Hilton Head Island bar.

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office charged Christopher Pack, 22, with unlawfully carrying a firearm and pointing it at a person. He was released on his own recognizance, according to online jail records.

The woman told deputies she was leaving a bar and walking through the Wachovia Bank parking lot on Greenwood Drive when Pack yelled at her. When she did not respond, Pack went to a vehicle, pulled out a handgun, "racked a round into the chamber" and pointed it at her, the report said.

A handgun was found under a seat inside the vehicle. Pack admitted the gun was his but denied pointing it at the woman, according to the report.
