Daufuskie Day: A homecoming and heritage celebration

The 32nd annual Daufuskie Day Celebration will be at noon June 25 at the public landing on Daufuskie Island.

The celebration was founded by the late Frances E. Jones in 1976 and is a day for Daufuskie Islanders to celebrate their heritage and invite family and friends back home. There will be a DJ, storyteller, island tours, a playground for kids and vendors.

Tickets cost $25 and are available at the Hilton Head-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce welcome center, Lester's Florist in Savannah and Fresh Cuts Unlimited barbershop in Beaufort. The first ferry leaves from Shelter Cove Marina at 8:30 a.m.
