Business, resident victims of armed robberies over weekend

The descriptions of the suspects are similar, and Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Robin McIntosh said investigators will consider the possibility that the two incidents are related.

She added, however, that "It's a little early in the investigation yet to connect anything."

Two men robbed an 18-year-old man at gunpoint Sunday night in Burton after the victim dropped off a friend in the Pinewood subdivision, according to a Sheriff's Office report.

Two days earlier, two men of similar description robbed Little Ceasars Pizza on Robert Smalls Parkway at gunpoint, according to a Beaufort Police Department news release.


A man told deputies Sunday he was robbed by two men, one armed with a handgun, as he walked to his car in the Pinewood subdivision.

They took his wallet, iPod and cellphone, then fled, leaving him unharmed, according to a news release.

The victim returned home and called law enforcement. Dogs searched the area, but found no suspects.

The suspects are described as two black men in their early 20s, both 5-foot-10, 165 pounds, with medium-length dreadlocks. The armed suspect was described as wearing all black. The second was described as wearing a red shirt and black pants.

Two men entered the Little Ceasars on Robert Smalls Parkway through the back door at about 10:40 p.m. Sunday and demanded money, according to a Police Department news release. One had a handgun, and the other had a black nylon gym bag, the release said.

The employees handed over the money, and the two robbers ran out the back door. They were last seen running into the wooded area behind the restaurant and are believed to have gotten into a vehicle near Ambrose Run apartments, according to the release.

The first suspect is described as black and in his 20s. He is tall and wore a black shirt, blue jeans and a black skull cap. He had dreadlocks, was armed with a handgun, and his face was covered by a white T-shirt sleeve. The second suspect is described as black, of medium height and also in his 20s. He wore a black shirt with a black bandana over his face.
