Daufuskie Island to celebrate its heritage

The 32nd annual Daufuskie Day Celebration will begin at noon June 25 at the public landing on Daufuskie Island.

The celebration was founded by the late Frances E. Jones in 1976 to celebrate islanders' heritage and invite family and friends back home. There will be a DJ, storyteller, tours, vendors and a playground for kids.

Tickets are $25 and are available at the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce welcome center, Lester's Florist in Savannah and Fresh Cuts Unlimited in Beaufort. The first ferry leaves at 8:30 a.m. from Shelter Cove on Hilton Head Island.
