A former Hilton Head Island mayoral candidate has been sentenced to one year in jail for breaking a divorce agreement, according to court records.
Former host of WHHI-TV's "Talk of the Town" and 2010 mayoral candidate Ed McCullough, 57, was found in contempt of court by a Family Court judge and arrested May 17, according to the Beaufort County Detention Center log.
McCullough was sentenced to a year in the detention center after he violated a provision of his divorce decree, which was made final Jan. 15, 2009, court records say.
McCullough was one of seven candidates who ran for mayor last year. He received about 6 percent of the vote. He resigned as host of "Talk of the Town" to run for mayor, according to station operations director Tom Jenkins.
