The Lowcountry Heat American Legion baseball team saw its long winning streak come to an end with Sunday's 13-1 loss to Florence in the final game at the American Legion Showcase in Charleston.
Post 185 began the day by winning its sixth in a row, 5-2 over Goose Creek, but wilted in the late game against Florence, which was playing for the first time Sunday.
Patrick Andrews drove in the lone run for the Heat, which finished tournament play 3-1.
Ryan Ward (1-2) took the mound loss.
Against Goose Creek, the Heat erased a 2-0 deficit with a five-run sixth inning.
DeAnte Scott went 2 for 3, including a double to start the Heat's big inning. Adam Orischak also had two hits, Devin McGuinness drove in a pair of runs and Andrews went 1 for 2 with an RBI.
Winning pitcher Kevin Hickey (1-0) tossed four innings of shutout ball.
Now 6-3 overall, the Heat host Summerville at 7 tonight.
