Live Oak Christian Church will hold a donation drive-through from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday in the Bluffton High School parking lot to collect household items for families affected by the May 22 tornado in Joplin, Mo.
The church will collect bedding and linens, such as pillows, blankets and towels; toiletries, such as toilet paper, soaps, denture products and sunscreen; and miscellaneous items, such as bottled water, laundry detergent, tarps and duct tape. Financial donations also will be accepted. Checks should be made payable to Live Oak Christian Church with "storm fund" written in the memo line.
Money raised will be distributed to organizations providing aid in Joplin. A Live Oak team will travel to Joplin in the next two weeks to deliver all donations to organizations already working in the area.
