Qualifying has wrapped up, and the singles and doubles draws are set for the Head/Tail Activewear USTA Women's $10K pro circuit tournament, which gets under way at 9 a.m. today at Van Der Meer Tennis Center.
Top-seeded Alexandra Mueller will not see action in the singles draw until Wednesday, but she and doubles partner Whitney Jones will put their top seed on the line. Mueller, who is ranked No. 391 in the world, is coming off a doubles victory last week in Carson, Calif.
Defending champion Alexis King, a former NCAA champion at Florida, is the No. 2 seed in the singles draw.
The doubles final is scheduled for Saturday with the singles final Sunday.

Notes: Today is ladies day at the tournament, with a women's doubles clinic featuring former ATP top-50 player Tom Shimada and instructors from Van Der Meer Tennis Academy. The clinic runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and will be followed by a Battle of the Sexes doubles exhibition and a player party catered by the Smokehouse. Prize drawings will be held during changeovers. The cost is $15 per player with a portion of the proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen Rally for the Cure.
