Want to go fishing, but aren't sure you'll like it enough to fork out the money for a state license?
The state is offering free fishing days June 11 and 12, when South Carolina residents can fish without a license, according to the S.C. Department of Natural Resources.
The state also offers 28 tackle-loaner sites at parks throughout South Carolina. There you can borrow everything you'll need for a day of fishing -- except the bait. A list of loaner sites is available at www.dnr.sc.gov/aquaticed. DNR recommends you call the site before your trip to determine the type of bait to bring and to ensure equipment is available.
