A bad seventh inning helped keep the Lowcountry Heat from earning their first victory of the young American Legion baseball season, as host Summerville scored four unearned runs in the bottom of the seventh en route to a 7-6 win over Post 185.
The Heat committed three of their four errors on the night in the bottom of the seventh. All told, five of Summerville's seven runs were unearned. Summerville (1-0) only had five hits.
Devin McGuinness accounted for three of the Heat's seven hits, going 3 for 5 with an RBI and a run scored. Post 185 hurt its own cause, leaving 13 runners on base.
Cameron Stoltz took the loss for the Heat (0-2), who host Goose Creek at 7 p.m. Friday.
