A 34-year-old Bluffton man faces felony child neglect charges after he left his children -- ages nine and six -- home alone for an undetermined period of time overnight Thursday, according to a Bluffton Police Department news release.
Keith Norwood Miller was released from the Beaufort County Detention Center on his own recognizance Thursday.
He was arrested at his Oaksdale Drive home in the Mill Creek community after his children awoke at about 3:45 a.m. to find him missing. The pair went to a neighbor's house and said their father was not home and they didn't know where he had gone, the release said.
The neighbor called authorities. Miller's wife -- the children's mother -- was reportedly out of town, Bluffton police Capt. Bryan Norberg said.
