Hilton Head Island resident Chris Epperson is playing in his first Heritage and his first PGA Tour event. He shares his experience with a daily diary, as told to reporter Stephen Fastenau.
I played the front nine of my practice round with Zach Johnson and Webb Simpson, and that was completely awesome for me.
I met Zach at the U.S. Open last year, and he remembered me. He's kind of taken me under his wing a little bit. He gave me a PGA Tour devotional book and signed it, wrote a little note on it and stuff. He's just been awesome.
And Webb, I have a good friend from college who caddied for Webb the last two years, and now he's not this year, but he was out there with us. I met Webb and just follow him because my buddy caddied for him. And so we had a little common ground there, so it was just a really cool day.
I played the back with Glen Day. I played with Glen at the final day of Q-School last year. We played the back nine together, so that was cool. Of course, Glen is a past champion.
I'm going to go home, take a shower and my dad's cooking spaghetti. I'm going to watch some TV, sleep in and then go back out to the course tomorrow and kind of putt and chip, maybe hit some balls and hang out for a while.
