Port Royal gas station held up at gunpoint

A man with a handgun and wearing a bandana robbed a gas station in Port Royal at 9:20 p.m. Sunday, according to a police spokesman.

A clerk at the BP Smith Serv Oil Co. at 780B Parris Island Gateway described the robber as a black male, 6-foot-1, 180 to 190 pounds, Sgt. Andre Massey said Monday.

The clerk was alone when the man, wearing dark clothes and a dark bandana, demanded he get a bag and put cash from the register in it, Massey said. The clerk, who was not injured, said the robber ran toward the woods near Cypress Street.

A Beaufort County sheriff's canine unit was unable to find the robber.

Couple robbed outside Bluffton home

An 18-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man were robbed Saturday night by two men with a shotgun outside the woman's home at Bluffton's Shady Glen Mobile Home Park, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

The woman was walking her friend to his vehicle at about midnight when two men, one armed with a shotgun, pulled up in a green car, possibly an Infiniti, and demanded money, according to a news release. The couple gave them cash and a cellphone. The men drove off, leaving the couple uninjured.

The robbers were described as black and 20 to 35 years old. One was about 6 feet tall and 180 pounds; the other was about 5 feet tall and 150 pounds.

Sheriff's Office searches for missing man

Sheriff's deputies are asking for help in finding a 25-year-old Bluffton man reported missing by his parents after he failed to show up for work Sunday.

Bryan William Tracy was last seen at his mother's apartment at the Treetops at Cordillo Parkway on Hilton Head Island at about 5 a.m. Sheriff's spokeswoman Sgt. Robin McIntosh said Monday that investigators would not release details about what might have led to his disappearance.

Tracy is white, about 5-feet-10, 170 pounds, with auburn hair and brown eyes. He may be driving a gray 1997 Mazda 626 with S.C. tag DXJ 410.
