Couple opens counseling service

A husband-and-wife team recently opened a mental health counseling office on Lady's Island.

BAKERS Counseling Services in the Sams Point Office Park offers counseling sessions for individuals, couples and families.

"We provide a whole array of mental health services," co-owner and counselor Catreace Brown-Baker said.

The company offers counseling for depression, post traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, stress, time management, anger management, attention deficit disorder, victims of sexual and physical abuse, disruptive behavior, bereavement and adjustment disorders, among other things, Brown-Baker said.

It also offers relationship and Christian counseling.

Brown-Baker holds a master's degree in counseling from Webster University and is a licensed professional counselor in South Carolina.

Her husband and co-owner, Gabriel Baker, holds a business administration degree from American Military University and is the company's office manager and systems analyst.

The office, at 12 Fairfield Road Suite 3B, is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
