Greenery volunteers to maintain major corridor
The Greenery Inc., a Hilton Head Island-based landscape-design, construction and maintenance company, has volunteered to beautify and maintain a section of one of Beaufort County's major roads.
The company has "adopted" the southwest corner of Trask Highway and Parris Island Gateway in the Burton and Shell Point areas, where thousands of visitors pass each year on their way to the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, the Penn Center and the sea islands.
The project required several hours of collecting trash and debris, mowing, pruning, trimming hedges and other maintenance, horticulturist and supervisor Jerry Ashmore said.
