The Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn will host the second annual Lowcountry Heritage Breeds Festival, in partnership with the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday..
The museum will host breeders of farm animals that were historically used in the Lowcountry, including marsh tacky horses, mammoth jackstock mules, guinea hogs, pineywoods cattle, and leghorn chickens, according to a news release. Representatives from the conservancy will present "Breeds of the Southeast" and "Marsh Tacky Talk" in the Mary Ann Peeples Pavilion, as well as guided walks throughout the day.
