'The Heat Is On!' area chefs

The contest was part of the fifth annual Cooks & Books event held to benefit Literacy Volunteers of the Lowcountry. In the competition, each chef gets a basket of mystery ingredients and 30 minutes to create a dish. The competition was won by chef Keith Josefiak of the Old Fort Pub, who whipped up butter-poached lobster tail. The event also featured food vendors and local authors selling and autographing copies of their books.
