An employee of Target on Fording Island Road in Bluffton has agreed to turn herself in after allegedly purchasing more than $2,000 worth of items on a credit card and falsely returning them, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office report released Saturday.
The store's loss prevention manager began investigating the employee after discovering a Play Station 3 missing from inventory in late January.
Between Jan. 29 and Feb. 7, the employee, who works on the store's return desk, made six different purchases on her credit card, the report said. She then returned to the store with the receipts, crediting her credit card with the purchases without returning the items, the report said.
The loss prevention manager asked that charges be filed last Wednesday.
