Two of South Carolina's professional sporting events, the Heritage golf tournament and the Family Circle Cup women's tennis tournament, are offering discounted tickets so fans can attend both this year.
Since 2001, the Heritage and the Family Circle Cup have been scheduled on the same dates, forcing sports fans to decide which event to attend, according to a Heritage news release. The Family Circle Cup was held at Sea Pines before it moved to Charleston in 2001.
In what PGA Tour officials say is a one-time change this year, the Heritage will be played later than usual, April 21-24. The tennis event is scheduled April 2-10.
Heritage director Steve Wilmot said the ticket package seemed a natural, given the events' shared Hilton Head roots.
