Attackers break down door, beat resident

A Hilton Head Island resident was treated at a local hospital Monday night after three men allegedly broke down his front door and attacked him.

The 29-year-old man said he was sitting in the living room of his home on Phillip Drive when he heard loud noises, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office news release.

When he went to investigate, he saw the front door had been kicked in and three men standing in the doorway.

The men began hitting him on the head and face with an unknown object, the release said. They drove off in a dark four-door sedan. Nothing was taken, and the suspects did not make it past the front entry of the home, the release said.

The man suffered minor head injuries, was treated at Hilton Head Hospital and later released.

He could provide only limited descriptions of his attackers, according to the release.

All three suspects were described as white men between ages 17 and 25, all about 5-foot-8 and 175 pounds. One wore a long-sleeved, yellow T-shirt, and jeans. Another wore a dark hooded sweatshirt, and jeans. The third wore a long-sleeved white shirt, and jeans.

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call the Beaufort County Dispatch Center at 843-524-2777.
