Hardeeville hires new assistant manager

Jim Daniel of Hampton is the city of Hardeeville's new assistant city manager, according to a news release Wednesday from interim city manager Dennis Averkin.

The release said Daniel, 56, was picked from a field of more than 100 candidates by Ted Felder, the previous city manager who resigned after a Town Council closed session Friday. Averkin was appointed interim city manager after Felder's resignation.

Daniel's experience includes 10 years as a Hampton Town Council member and three years as the Hampton County economic development director, as well as job developer with the Colleton County Department of Social Services and a stint with WBHC Radio, the release said.
