Bluffton's Jennifer Adams finished second in the women's division of the S.C. Golf Association's Tournament of Champions, played Saturday and Sunday at The Tradition Club on Pawley's Island.
After shooting 83 in the first round, Adams bounced back with a 74 in the second round -- the low round of the weekend in the women's division -- to force a playoff with Cecelia Barksdale of Murrells Inlet. But Barksdale won on the first playoff hole, relegating Adams to runner-up status.
Hilton Head Island's Terrie Allemang (83-81--164) finished third.
Tyler Williams of Hilton Head Island was 10th in the men's division, carding rounds of 80 and 74 to finish 14 shots behind champion Ron Schroder of Aiken.
The Tournament of Champions is one of 19 major championships conducted by the S.C. Golf Association. The field consisted of 112 men and women who were club champions or one-day tournament champions throughout the state.
