State judges and attorneys will meet Thursday through Jan. 23 at the Hilton Head Resort & Spa at One Hotel Circle for their annual bar convention, according to a S.C. Bar news release.
The convention is an opportunity for lawyers to attend a variety of continuing legal education programs, meet colleagues and members of the judiciary, and enhance their practices through technology demonstrations and services offered by convention vendors. Attendees also will hear S.C. Supreme Court Chief Justice Jean Toal's State of the Judiciary remarks during Friday's plenary luncheon, during which the S.C. Bar Foundation's DuRant Award will be presented.
Bar President Carl L. Solomon will give a report, and the bar's House of Delegates will hear from the S.C. Bar Foundation and nominate members of the S.C. Supreme Court Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization.
