Marine anglers seeking information on popular saltwater fish species -- life histories, abundance and harvest regulations -- now have a website based on data collected over decades by the S.C. Department of Natural Resources.
The website, www.dnr.sc.gov/marine/species/index.html, covers 20 species of the most sought-after saltwater fish, based on public input, according to a DNR news release.
Among the fish featured are red drum, spotted sea trout, flounder, sheepshead, king and Spanish mackerel, amberjack, tarpon and croaker. The website also includes similar information on shrimp, blue crabs and oysters.
