Beaufort County, state and municipal officials will hold a forum on immigration at 10 a.m. today in County Council Chambers at 100 Ribaut Road in Beaufort. The forum aims to provide the community accurate information about immigration issues, including education, employment, health and human services, and law enforcement, said Board of Education Chairman Fred Washington Jr., who is part of the group planning the forum. The forum is open to the public, but there will be no public-comment session. Washington said the group hopes to publish the information distributed at the forum on a website. The event will be broadcast live on the County Channel and online at www.bcgov.net. It will be rebroadcast Friday and Sunday. Details: www.beaufortcountyscimmigration.com.
