A motorcyclist died Friday afternoon after colliding with an oncoming cement truck on U.S. 17 in Jasper County near the South Carolina-Georgia border.
The Jasper County Coroner's Office has not released the name of the man because his next of kin has not been notified, according to coroner Martin Sauls.
The rider of a Suzuki motorcycle was heading south at about 2:20 p.m. when he crossed the center line and hit the front fender of a cement truck, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.
The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet. The driver of the cement truck, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured.

No charges are expected to be filed, but the collision is under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police helped the Jasper County Sheriff's Office direct traffic after the accident and closed the Talmadge Bridge to traffic.
Vehicles were allowed back on the bridge shortly before 5 p.m.
