The nonprofit International Student Exchange seeks host families in Beaufort County, who can provide a room for a student and two meals a day while the student attends a local high school.
The students are required to come with their own spending money and health insurance, Arthur Haaker, local representative for the program, said in a news release. The host family is entitled to a small tax deduction, he added.
The students come from many countries, including Denmark, Serbia, Brazil, Thailand, Venezuela, South Korea and Spain, he said.
