13-year-old robbed at gunpoint on Lady's Island

Three men armed with a gun and knives robbed a 13-year-old boy Friday night as he walked home from a Lady's Island convenience store, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office report.

The boy told deputies he left the store on Sea Island Parkway at about 9 p.m. and was walking through a wooded area toward Youmans Drive when three men approached.

One wore a black and white mask, pointed a gun at his face, demanded money and threatened to hurt him if he didn't comply, according to the report. The other two men brandished knives.

The boy gave the men a $20 bill; the men ran off, the report said.

They were described as black, about 6 feet tall, slender, wearing all black and hooded sweatshirts.

Deputies canvassed the area looking for the men but did not locate them, according to the report.
