A 36-year-old Hilton Head Island man was sentenced Thursday to 12 years in prison for selling cocaine to an undercover officer on three occasions in and around south-end bars and restaurants, according to a news release from the 14th Circuit Solicitor's Office. A jury found Jamal A. Washington of Marshland Road guilty of one count of sale and distribution of cocaine at the end of the two-day trial. He pleaded guilty to two more counts of sale and distribution of cocaine after the verdict. The drug deals occurred in October and November 2009 and were recorded on video.
