A 27-year-old Bluffton woman was sexually assaulted Tuesday as she walked along Bluffton Parkway, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office report.
The woman told investigators she was walking east on a sidewalk along the parkway to a relative's apartment at about 10:45 p.m. when a man she described as Hispanic with an Asian accent came up from behind her, pulled her toward the tree line on the side of the road and assaulted her.
The attacker did not appear to have a weapon but told the woman he would kill her if she called authorities, sheriff's Capt. Bob Bromage said.
After the assault, the woman ran to her relative's apartment, where a neighbor called 911, Bromage said.
