A Bluffton man was charged with attempted murder Wednesday after police say he shot at another man.
Police were called to an area off Goethe Road about 8:20 p.m. Tuesday after reports of shots fired, according to a Bluffton Police Department news release Wednesday.
Jonathan Brown told officers that Eric Rivers got out of a vehicle in front of his home and began to threaten him. The car departed without Rivers, who began walking away. A few moments later, Brown heard a number of gunshots and ducked, according to the release.
Witnesses say Rivers fired several shots at Brown, according to the release.

Rivers, 35, was arrested without incident at about 10:30 a.m. at the corner of Goethe Road and Grace Lane, police said.
He is charged with attempted murder and pointing a firearm. He is in the Beaufort County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
