Bluffton police officers chased a driver and a passenger in Bluffton on Monday after they ran from a routine traffic stop, according to Police Chief David McAllister.
The chase, in the S.C. 46 area east of Buckwalter Parkway, started after officers stopped the driver for expired registration about 3 p.m., McAllister said.
Police wrapped up the search about 5 p.m. McAllister said the police know who the suspects are, but haven't yet caught them. He expected charges would be forthcoming.
A press release will be issued today, according to a communications service on the department's website.
