The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office issued arrest warrants Friday for two men believed to be involved in last week's shooting on May River Road in Bluffton.

Derrick Dupont Jr., 19, and Kadeem Zeigler, 18, both of the Simmonsville Road area, are wanted on charges of attempted murder, according to a Monday news release from the Sheriff's Office.

Julian Dobbins, 20, of Bluffton was shot once in the back with a shotgun as he walked along May River Road, near Haigler Boulevard, on Thursday afternoon, according to the release. He was shot by someone in a vehicle.

Dobbins was taken by ambulance to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, where he was treated and released, a spokesman at the hospital said.

Dupont and Zeigler were questioned about the shooting early in the investigation, and additional evidence recovered Friday led to the warrants, according to the news release.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of either man is asked to call investigator Angela Viens at 843-255-3406 or Beaufort County Dispatch at 843-524-2777.
