Jasper County Neighbors United has won the Eagle Award for Excellence in Community Economic Development.
The award was presented by the S.C. Association of Community Development Corporations earlier this month.
"Jasper County Neighbors United ... has been in the forefront of helping bring housing alternatives to (its) region and improving the quality of life for those who need it most," the group stated in a news release. "(It) has been able to successfully provide homes to those citizens who are at or below the area median income."
The group was nominated for the award by Hardeeville city manager Ted Felder.
