The USC Beaufort men's golf team had its day on the course cut short by rain and thunderstorms Monday at the Jay Jennison Memorial Tournament in St. Augustine, Fla.
Play was suspended because of lightning and rain, prompting organizers to shorten the event from 54 holes to 36 holes. The Sand Sharks were among seven teams who did not complete their rounds, but coach Chris Cuneo said his team played well and he expects USCB to be near the top of the leaderboard when the round concludes.
Host school Flagler College has the clubhouse lead at 301.
The first round is scheduled to resume at 8:30 a.m. today with the final round to follow.
