Wind is to blame for toppling a large oak in downtown Beaufort this evening, blocking off a block for about an hour while crews cut up the tree and carted it off. Wind gusts up to 35 mph were recorded in Charleston on Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
Meanwhile, others took advance of the sunshine and 80 degree temperature for outdoor pursuits.
