A group of Vietnam vets were trying to raise money Thursday at movie night at the Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park in Beaufort so this generation of warriors can visit Beaufort in October and hear the Lt. Dan Band, fronted by actor Gary Sinise. The 13-piece band is named after the Vietnam vet and double amputee Sinise portrayed in the film "Forrest Gump." The proceeds from the sale of T-shirts and wristbands will be used to help cover travel and lodging expenses for 50 veterans severely wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan to attend the 16th annual Beaufort Shrimp Festival.
