David Tilton plays third base and pitches for the Beaufort's all-star team, which is playing in the Dixie Boys World Series in Seneca. Each day of the tournament, a player will share his experience with The Beaufort Gazette and The Island Packet with a diary.***
We lost a heartbreaker tonight. We had a 3-2 lead going into the fifth inning, and we thought we had it. But a couple of bad plays here and there, and we walked a bunch people, and we lost for the first time in the tournament.
We just have to come back tomorrow and overcome that and win two games so we can stick around another day. We play Georgia at 10 a.m., and if we win that one, we'll play either Mississippi or Tennessee.
We've been in this situation before. We lost a game at districts and we came back and won three in a row and won the tournament. But we know there are better teams here, so we have to make sure we keep our heads up and stay focused.

We have to realize we have another game tomorrow.
We're going to go home on the bus and take showers and go straight to bed, because we need to forget about this game and think about tomorrow.Me, and Tony Nolan and the other leaders like us have to get everybody back up and get them ready to come back and play again tomorrow. We'll be ready.
