The Sun City Chorus and Concert Band will present "Holiday Classics," a concert of traditional and contemporary selections at 2 p.m. Dec. 1 and 7 p.m. Dec. 2, 3, and 4 at Sun City's Magnolia Hall. More than 100 mixed voices will sing eight part harmony, and the Sun City Concert Band will perform. The show is directed by Art Hansen with Lorraine Hansen. St. Andrew By-the-Sea United Methodist Church on Hilton Head Island will host its 32nd annual Fall Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 13 at the church at 20 Pope Avenue, Hilton Head Island. All proceeds from the festival support the outreach and mission projects of the church. The 2011 All Saints Garden Tour is seeking applications from Bluffton and Hilton Head Island non-profit (IRS 501(c)3 organizations that would like to be considered as beneficiaries for next year's event. All profits from the 24th Annual Garden Tour, which will be held on May 14, 2011, will be donated to several local organizations. Applications can be obtained from Kathie Miller, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Garden Tour, by calling (843) 715-0499.
Each group selected to receive a portion of the proceeds from the Garden Tour will be asked to provide volunteers to help with the event, as well as to sell tickets to the event to their respective members and supporters. Applications should be received by the church at 3001 Meeting Street on Hilton Head Island by Nov. 30.
The Old Town Bluffton Merchants Society's Holiday Gallery Walk will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Nov. 19. Wine and refreshments will be served by each gallery. Visitors can also enjoy live music and browse through Old Town's galleries on Boundary, Church, May River and Calhoun Streets throughout the entire event. The Arts Center of Coastal Carolina will host the Town of Hilton Head's official Christmas Tree Lighting festival, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Nov. 27 at the arts center at Shelter Cove. It will include a performance from the cast of "Hello, Dolly!," plus plenty of food for sale and warm cocoa. The event is free and open to the public.
Bluffton Self Help will be signing up families in need of ingredients for a Thanksgiving Dinner or toys for their children (12 and younger) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 30 and Nov. 6. Sign-ups for Christmas toys only will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 20 and from noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 4. Requirements for sign up include a photo ID, proof of residency in Bluffton, a working phone number, birth certificates for children, and custodial papers if children's last names are not the same. Please have specific toy or gift suggestions with a suggested value of $25 a child and have Social Security numbers or identification numbers of all children.
